Simon B. Häfele, Artist and Curator. Lives in Austria. Currently writing his PhD at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna at the Institute for Art Theory and Cultural Studies. Studied Media- and Performance-Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Estonian Academy of Arts among others with Peter Weibel, Brigitte Kowanz and Jaan Toomik.

Founder of sonance.artistic.network (1998). Has been realizing numerous art and culture projects: Exhibitions, performances, installations and works in public space i.e. 2000 Remote Music Tool (rmt) at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art), London and 2006 Date-a.006 at the Media.Art.Laboratory, Kunsthaus Graz. 2009 Nestroy Price as Technical Director of Theatercombinat for the play Bambiland 08 written by Elfriede Jelinek. Since 2010 Juryservice-Member for New Media Art- and Culture and Co-founder of netznetz.net (2004) – a challenging unique civil-society-based experiment, evolving a self-organized voting-system to democratically allocate Public Funds, supported by the City Council of Vienna.
